BrushKing® Can Help You Maintain Your Banana Plantation

Maintaining your banana plantation is essential for the growth and overall health of your banana trees. Banana trees are prone to damage and pests, like nematodes, which rot the plant and the fruit it produces, so it is vital to regularly prune them. BrushKing® manufacturers tools like shearing knives, pruners, and hand saws that can aid in the maintenance process of your banana plantation. Read on to learn more about how BrushKing® can help you maintain your banana trees.

Shearing Knives: 83rk-16-brushking-german-shearing-knife-f

Shearing knives are essential when it comes to maintaining your banana trees. They are primarily used to remove dead and diseased leaves from the banana trees. BrushKing® offers shearing knives with serrated edges to ease the shearing process. The serrated edge ensures that you achieve a sharp, quality cut. Our shearing knives can also help shape the banana tree to fit any aesthetic specifications. Visit our website here to view our selection of serrated edge shearing knives.

Pruners: brushking-felco-300-pruner-f

Pruning has a similar role to shearing in the maintenance of banana trees. Pruning takes place on a smaller scale, used to remove individual damaged leaves, as opposed to removing large quantities of damaged or diseased leaves. Before a banana tree begins producing fruit, it needs to be pruned to only have one main stem. Each season, the banana tree replaces the main stem of the plant with a sucker from the previous season. Pruning promotes regrowth and the overall health of the banana tree. BrushKing® sells a variety of FELCO® pruners that can be used on banana plantations to prune your banana trees.

Hand Saws: JR911-brushking-saw-folding-saw-9inch-f

After harvesting the fruit from the banana tree, the stem of the plant needs to be cut down. This process happens in two steps. First, the stem of the banana plant needs to be cut down to around 2 ½ feet tall right after the fruit is removed from the stem. Then, a few weeks later, the remainder of the stem needs to be cut down, only leaving a sucker (a small part of the main stem). BrushKing® offers a selection of hand saws that can ease this process, you can find them here.
