When it comes to precision machining, numerous types of equipment are used to get the most consistent, precise, and high-quality results. Here at Loos Precision Products (LPP), we have a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment to guarantee you get the best-machined parts available. LPP breaks down its equipment into four categories: Grinding, Milling, Screw Machines, and Turning. Continue reading to learn more about each of these categories of equipment.

Grinding:

Grinding is a process that is typically done using manual surface grinders. Manual grinders are an excellent piece of equipment for machined parts as manual surface grinders guarantee precision, while the cost remains fairly inexpensive. Manual grinding is focused on the surface of a material, and it helps remove impurities and the oxide layer. LPP’s manual grinding machines can maintain tolerances as small as .0001”. Our machines are used on ferrous and non-ferrous metals and are equipped to apply a coating or plating.

Milling:

In terms of milling, LPP has 7 Haas Vertical Mills. Some of these vertical mills have 4-axis capabilities, and the mills have table capacities to X:30in / Y: 16in / Z: 20in. As these machines are tuned to the finest precisions, LPP has a Total Production Maintenance program (TPM) to ensure machines are regularly maintained to achieve maximum manufacturing potential. Another piece of milling equipment is CNC milling. CNC milling is a computer-controlled machining process that offers a variety of processes. CNC milling provides incredibly high accuracy and maintains tolerances as small as .0001”.

Screw Machines:

One machine used to meet screw machining requirements is an Acme-Gridley 6 Spindle Screw Machine. These machines are suited for a wide range of materials and can take your intricate designs and efficiently produce the highest quality results. Another machine used for screw machining are Swiss screen machines. Swiss screw machines are often used when a customer requires extreme precision in small and intricate parts.
