A Breakdown of Our Hydraulic Cable Cutters

One of our newest types of tools available are our hydraulic cable cutters.  Our cutting tools ensure reliability and cleanly cut cables up to 7/8” in diameter. At Loos & Co., Inc. Cableware Division, we offer four different types of hydraulic cable cutters. In today’s blog, we will look at each of these cutters in-depth to help you decide which one is most suited to your needs!

HC-16 Hydraulic Cable Cutter:

The Type HC-16 Cutter is extremely lightweight which allows the tool to easily be carried around the job site. The tool is made with high-quality steel and has durable rubber handle grips to ensure years of use in even the toughest conditions. The HC-16 also has a black zinc oxide coating to help reduce potential corrosion. The tool also has a 180-degree rotational head, meaning it is easy to get the necessary leverage in any position.

HC-16PL Hydraulic Cable Cutter:

Our HC-16PL Cutter has some similar strength and durability characteristics to the HC-16 but is specifically intended for underwater environments. This tool is saltwater resistant and is nickel-plated. Some primary uses of the tool are for stainless steel wire rope rigging and hardware, yacht mast rod cutting up to ½”, and underwater rebar & cable cutting.

HC-20 Hydraulic Cable Cutter:

The HC-20 Cable Cutter can cut wire rope, soft steel bolts, and rebar ground & anchor rod. The tool is very portable and has a 180-degree rotational head. A flip-top latch easily opens the tool jaw so that cables and wires can be accepted. The tool works in any position and will last many years in tough field conditions due to its reliable and sturdy build.

HC-24 Hydraulic Cable Cutter:

Our Type HC-24 Hydraulic Cable Cutter has many similar capabilities as the HC-20 tool, including the ability to cut wire rope, soft steel bolts, and rebar ground & anchor rod. However, the HC-24 cutter can cut larger sizes of these materials than the HC-20 tool. The hC-24 cutter has a .9” jaw opening and offers 7.8 tons of output.
